Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the backbone of The Concord Police Department. It is the largest division in the agency, and it is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Patrol Division is comprised of uniformed Police Officers who are responsible for a specific geographic sector of the City, referred to as sectors. Each shift is also staffed with a Sergeant, who is the first line supervisor for the Police Officers, and a Watch Commander, who is responsible for the operations of the entire shift.

The Police Officers assigned to the Patrol Division are the primary connection that most community members have with the Concord Police Department. Officers assigned to Patrol have a wide variety of duties including responding to emergency calls, investigating past tense incidents, and enforcing motor vehicle laws. These officers also take on various community caretaking roles including checking the welfare of individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues and helping locate lost or missing vulnerable adults or children. Patrol Officers also strive to be active in community policing, and to get to know the people in their assigned sector, in order to be more responsive to their needs.

The Concord Police Department takes pride in having highly trained officers assigned to the Patrol Division. Many Patrol Officers possess specialized skills or training, which they utilize during their shifts, as well as outside their standard assignments. Some of the specialized skills that these Patrol Officers possess include being Evidence Technicians, Field Training Officers, Motorcycle Officers, Bicycle Officers, Defensive Tactics and Firearms instructors, and certified Drug Recognition Experts. Some Patrol Officers are also members of the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit (SWAT), the Crisis Intervention Team, and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

The Officers assigned to the Patrol Division are committed to providing quality and professional police service to the community, and they take pride in making the City of Concord a safe place to live and work.
