Special Events

Throughout the year the Cemetery Division of Concord Parks & Recreation Department holds many special events and services.

Wreaths Across America began as a small event started by its founder, a Maine businessman, Morrill Worcester.  He contributed and placed wreaths at the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington County, Virginia. It became a non-profit organization in the 2000s.

The goal of the organization is to Remember Fallen Veterans, Honor Those Who Serve and Teach Our Children the Value of Freedom.

The wreaths for Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 13 have arrived! Please join us in honoring our Veterans, past and present.

Ceremonies will take place in cemeteries around the city on Saturday morning. The times are as follows:

  • Blossom Hill: 9 a.m.
  • Old North: 10 a.m.
  • Maple Grove: 10 a.m.
  • Old Fort: 10 a.m.
  • Woodlawn: 10:30 a.m.
