City offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Please join us in honoring and remembering all those who served in our armed forces and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The Concord Transfer Station will also be closed on Monday. Trash, recycling, and bagged leaf collection for Monday will be postponed to Tuesday. Collection will be delayed by one day through the remainder of the week.
MEMORIAL DAY PARADES:
PENACOOK
The Memorial Day parade in Penacook takes place on Sunday, May 26, organized by the Penacook Village Association. Please note that Village Street will be closed from Washington Street (at the rotary) to Beede Drive from 10 a.m. to noon for the parade. The parade will step off from Merrimack Valley High School at 10 a.m. and go north on Village Street to the Penacook Square (Boudreau Square). A moment of reflection will be held at the monument with the placing of a wreath. The parade will then continue to Washington Street School.
CONCORD
The Memorial Day parade in Concord takes place on Monday, May 27, organized by the Concord Veterans Council. Please note that the following streets will be closed from 8:30-10 a.m. The parade begins at Christ the King Parish at 9 a.m. and continues down Main Street.
- Thorndike Street, from South State Street to South Main Street;
- South Main Street, from Thorndike Street to Pleasant Street;
- North Main Street, from Pleasant Street to Park Street;
- Park Street, from North Main Street to North State Street;
- North State Street, from Park Street to Capital Street; and
- Capital Street, from North State Street to North Main Street.
