On April 21st, the Energy and Environment Advisory Committee hosted an Earth Day Community Conversations Event to celebrate our natural environment and sustainability. Special guests included Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, and Concord's Mayor Byron Champlin. Various other speakers also provided updates on sustainability and clean energy initiatives in Concord. A new solar array went live at the Hall Street Wastewater Treatment Plant in January 2025. Click here to learn more about the project, and click here to go directly to the Virtual Kiosk Dashboard to view the solar array performance in real time. 

On March 11, 2024, City Council adopted a resolution to join a community power program.  Click here for frequently asked questions and to learn more about this program.  The Concord Community Power program, working with the Community Power Coalition of NH (CPCNH), officially launched in October 2024. Enrollment is now open; rate payers can continue to make changes to their enrollment status at anytime. The changes may take up to a month to become effective.  View our web page dedicated to Concord Community Power.

Energy Efficiency - Button Up Workshop

Improving building energy efficiency is a crucial step towards accomplishing our city's renewable energy and emissions reduction goals, including our 100% Renewable Energy Goal and the Climate Mayors Agreement.  Weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades are subsidized and provide direct benefits to the building owners and renters by reducing annual energy spending by an average of at least 20%.  These upgrades also improve building comfort, safety and health.
