- Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) System
The Concord Police offer Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) classes for the public. The classes are free. The R.A.D. System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
The R.A.D. Systems is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault. This is a 12-hour course broken up over four days and taught by nationally certified R.A.D. Instructors. Each student will be given a workbook/reference manual which will outline the entire Physical Defense Program for reference and continuous personal growth. R.A.D. has a free lifetime return and practice policy for all R.A.D. graduates.
Class dates and times will be announced via this website, local media, and the Department's Facebook page.
