Concord General Services’ Water Treatment Division joined the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Partnership for Safe Water in November 2014 to enhance Concord’s commitment to provide the highest quality water. This is a voluntary four-phase program with established water quality guidelines higher than the minimum standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Our Water Treatment Plant has officially been recognized as a Phase II facility. Being a Phase II facility includes annual data collection and reporting of baseline turbidity results (raw and finished) to the AWWA. Concord General Services’ goal is to reach Phase IV by 2019. Being a partner of AWWA Partnership for Safe Water will ensure that Concord General Services is providing the highest water quality possible for the community and is ahead of federal regulations. Please contact our Water Treatment Superintendent, Marco Philippon, for any questions or concerns about the program or the quality of our water.
