Keach Pool Renovation

Keach Pool Construction

The pool at Keach Park is receiving a full renovation as the third stage of a of a multi-year commitment to upgrade all of the City of Concord’s community pools. South Shore Gunite has already full excavated the existing pool and construction continues to progress quickly. This renovation will similarly reflect the renovation completed at the start of this summer at Kimball Pool and last summer at Guyette Pool at Rolfe Park. The new pool at Keach Park will include full ADA accessibility with “zero-entry” access to the pool, improved deck floor traction, exciting new gusher jet features, a beach style ramp, and increased deck drainage to reduce slips, trips, and falls. Our Public Properties Division will be managing contractors and working on property updates for this project. The facility will also receive bathroom upgrades, a fresh coat of paint, and improved energy efficiency with new lighting and water filtration media. Most of the construction will be finished for the season by early October, but final updates will be completed in the spring for the new pool to be ready in time for the next pool season.

Heating Conversion Project

Heating Conversion Project

Structure Tone has been contracted for the heating conversion project at the Municipal Complex. Work will continue through the summer, with the new heating system ready in time for the fall season. The project will include the addition of a new boiler system in the lower level of City Hall, the installation of underground distribution piping, and the conversion of the remaining steam heating systems to a more efficient hot water arrangement. Most of this work will occur in mechanical areas of the six buildings on the property, but there will be occasional disruptions to the facilities. Staff will work hard to minimize disruptions as much as possible. Patience is appreciated as these upgrades are completed.
