This year, the library’s offering Summer Reading Programs for ALL AGES! Our theme - Imagine Your Story - explores myths, folktales and fairy tales. The program will run from June 22-August 21st.

For Kids

Summer reading challenges are available for ages 0-6 and Book Bingo for ages 6-12.

For ages 0-6:

Pick at least one activity from each Book Bingo Junior column. These can be completed by your child directly or for your child depending on their age. Submit to ljones@concordnh.gov or at the library. After 4 submissions you will earn a summer reading goody bag.  Each week you will also get an entry into the raffle for end of the summer prizes.

For ages 6-12:

Complete 8 of the Book Bingo activities per week and submit it to ljones@concordnh.gov or return it to the library. After four weeks of submissions you will get a summer reading goody bag. Each week you will be entered into our raffle for end of Summer Reading prizes.

Register here for the children’s summer reading program. Gameboards will be emailed to all registrants.

For Teens and Adults

Same game, new look! Complete reading tasks to earn prizes in Bookopoly, our summer reading program for teens and adults. This program is open to Concord and Penacook residents aged 12 and up. Questions? Call the Library at (603) 225-8670, or visit concordpubliclibrary.net.

How does it work? Read a book corresponding to each square on the game board, then fill in the title on your book tracker. Every time you complete a “color” — by reading all three books in a given category —  you’ll earn a raffle ticket for our prize drawing. The more you read, the more you can win! When you’ve completed all three tasks in a category, check in with library staff to receive your raffle ticket.

Scattered throughout the board are some Reader’s Choice squares. For these tasks, you can read absolutely any book in any category of your choosing.

For an added challenge, complete the Storied Square Challenge. These are tasks that correspond with this year’s theme. Complete four of them, and earn a bonus prize! Read the library’s Quarantine Zine, check a fairytale related DVD, check out a myth related DVD or CD (or download a myth related album or movie on Hoopla), or check out any collection of short STORIES!
