Concord Parks & Recreation offers winter basketball leagues for children ages 4 years old through 12th grade. Leagues are broken down by age/grade. We rely heavily on volunteer coaches for this program. All volunteers are required to pass a police background check, additionally we provide guidance and training for all coaches.
These co-ed basketball leagues will focus on the fundamentals of the game while introducing players to being part of a team. Teams will meet once a week on Saturdays. Practices will include fun and creative ways for learning a new skill.
All players will need to bring their own ball to practice.
Ball sizing: Hot Shots and Jumpers: 27.5”
The goal of this basketball season is to allow players to get out on the court and be active. We know this year won't look like a traditional basketball season, but we still want to provide the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball while gaining positive social experiences, promote good sportsmanship and have fun in a supportive environment. All games and practices are held in Concord for these age groups.
All players should bring their own ball to practice.
Ball sizing is as follows:
•Hot Shots and Jumpers: 27.5”
• Girls Leagues: 28.5”
• Boys Leagues: 29.5”
In addition to our inhouse basketball leagues (all games and practices are held in Concord) the department also offers several travel teams. Team tryouts are usually held in October or early November each year.
